Accessibility at BlackNimbus Software
BlackNimbus Software treats accessibility as an engineering requirement rather than a final-stage checklist. Our current engineering target for this website is WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Engineering controls
The public website is being maintained with accessibility controls that include:
- semantic page structure, landmarks, headings, links, buttons, and form controls;
- a keyboard-accessible bypass link and visible focus treatment;
- keyboard-operable custom interactions with programmatic state and focus recovery;
- meaningful text alternatives and assistive-technology hiding for decorative visuals;
- labeled forms, associated instructions, status announcements, and submission-state feedback;
- responsive reflow and narrow-screen testing;
- reduced-motion handling for CSS and JavaScript-driven movement; and
- WCAG 2.2-specific review for focus obscuration, dragging, target size, consistent help, redundant entry, and accessible authentication where applicable.
Verification
Accessibility is evaluated with both automated and manual evidence. Our engineering process includes multi-route browser testing, accessibility-rule scanning, keyboard interaction checks, responsive/reflow review, motion checks, and retained release evidence. Manual review is still required for areas automated tools cannot determine reliably, including screen-reader experience, layered color contrast, focus visibility and obscuration, criterion exceptions, and third-party components.
An automated scan or a single test result is not treated as proof of full conformance. BlackNimbus separates source implementation, automated evidence, manual evidence, unresolved findings, and final acceptance so accessibility claims remain traceable to the system that was actually tested.
Standards and public-sector work
For customer projects, BlackNimbus evaluates the accessibility requirements that apply to the specific organization, system, jurisdiction, contract, funding context, and implementation date. For U.S. state and local government work, this includes applicable ADA Title II requirements and any additional federal, state, local, contractual, procurement, or program-specific obligations.
Where a project adopts a stronger engineering baseline than its minimum legal technical standard, BlackNimbus tracks both: the project target and the independently applicable legal or contractual requirements.
Known limitations and feedback
Qualification is continuous as content and interactive features evolve. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us what page or feature you were using, the assistive technology or browser involved when relevant, and what prevented access. We will review the issue as an engineering defect and use that evidence to improve the experience.
